At Ellenbrook Secondary College, the Health and Physical Education (HPE) Department is dedicated to delivering engaging programs that encourage students to participate and excel in a positive and supportive environment. A unique aspect of our Health and Physical Education learning area is the wide range of learning contexts that provide opportunities for developing the “whole child”, students that will become a productive members of the community.
Our courses build upon students’ capabilities, expanding knowledge, strengthening understanding and providing opportunities to flourish and succeed. Students develop effective interpersonal and collaborative skills, decision-making and goal-setting, analytical, research and inquiry processes which are transferable to the workplace and further education. Our specialised and highly trained teachers establish authentic connections developing the students’ sense of belonging, supporting their wellbeing and creating educational success within their chosen pathway. We strive to foster a lifelong appreciation for health and physical activity by equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to lead healthy, active lives. Through our HPE curriculum, students are empowered to make informed choices that support their overall health and wellbeing.
Our greatest measure of success is seeing students continue to engage in sport, recreation, and healthy lifestyle practices well beyond their school years.
