𝗚𝗔𝗧 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 Eight Year 8 Gifted and Talented (GAT) students represented Ellenbrook SC at the annual Interschool Mathematics Numero Challenge on Wednesday 5 August.
The students competed in two teams of four, demonstrating teamwork, resilience and mathematical thinking throughout the day. While the competition was challenging, our students embraced the opportunity to test their skills against students from other schools, gain valuable experience and further develop their confidence in mathematics.
Congratulations to all students involved for the way they represented Ellenbrook SC and for giving their best effort throughout the competition.
Students explored the WAAPA campus, observed tertiary music classes, and experienced performances by WAAPA students and lecturers, and even singing alongside the WAAPA Contemporary Choir during rehearsal.
A huge thank you to WAAPA's Education Outreach Coordinator, Genevieve Wilkins, for organising such a fantastic day, as well as Matt Allen, the WAAPA lecturers and students for sharing their time, knowledge and talent. The experience gave our students a real glimpse on further study opportunities in the performing arts and inspired them to consider future pathways in the industry.

Throughout the workshop, students developed their understanding of tone, colour temperature, colour mixing, and three-dimensional form while learning to paint realistically from photographic references. The experience provided valuable practical skills and insight into professional painting techniques, supporting both their artistic development and ATAR Visual Arts studies.

During the interview, the students shared insights into rehearsals, their favourite aspects of being involved in the production, and the exciting journey of bringing this much-loved musical to life on stage.

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 Over the weekend (1-2 Aug), a selection of our Ellenbrook SC dance students attended the School to Stage Dance Competition.
This year, our Senior Elite, Junior Elite, Hip Hop Tribe, and Year 12 Dance classes students performed 6 group routines, as well as 5 solo performances and one duo. Every student performed exceptionally well and represented Ellenbrook SC with pride, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
Their passion, resilience, and teamwork were evident both on and off the stage and we are incredibly proud to celebrate the following achievements:

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 On 27-28 July, 60 student leaders from Ellenbrook SC attended the Student Leadership Camp at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp, where they developed leadership, teamwork and communication skills while strengthening connections across year groups.
Throughout the two-day camp, students participated in a variety of engaging activities designed to challenge and inspire them. Highlights included icebreaker games, a bike tour, the big swing, the Lost Pilot challenge, and much more. These experiences encouraged students to work collaboratively, think critically, build resilience, and develop trust within their teams.
Students also took part in reflection and planning sessions focused on their roles and responsibilities as student leaders. These discussions helped students identify ways to strengthen student voice, foster positive relationships, and contribute to a stronger sense of community across the College.
The camp provided an invaluable opportunity for students to build leadership capacity while embodying our College values of Engagement and Community.

Ellenbrook SC is proudly multicultural, with students speaking more than 60 languages. We are one of the few schools in Western Australia to offer English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D), providing students from non-English-speaking backgrounds with the opportunity to study EAL/D instead of mainstream English.
In 2025, the College offered ATAR EAL/D for the first time and achieved results that were 5% above the state average. Our Dux of 2025 was also an ATAR EAL/D student who has since gone on to pursue a degree in Medicine at Curtin University.

𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 - 𝗔𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯) Aaron C (Class of 2023) discovered his love for the outdoors at Ellenbrook SC through Outdoor Education and VET Certificate courses. He received the SCSA VET Exhibition Award for Sport & Recreation and was named a finalist for the prestigious Beazley Medal.
Post secondary, Aaron completed a Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership, worked as an Outdoor Education Instructor and spent two years working at camps in Victoria, gaining valuable industry experiences. His dedication and commitment saw him nominated for the 2025 Apprentice Training Awards Trainee of the Year.
He is now working at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp and this week has had the opportunity to work alongside our Student Leaders. Aaron also volunteers with #StJohnWA as an Emergency Medical Responder and is considering a future in Paramedicine.
Aaron's journey is a fantastic example of the impact of Outdoor Education and VET pathways in helping students discover their strengths, pursue their passions and build rewarding careers.
𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗔𝗧 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 This term, our Gifted and Talented (GAT) students are once again taking part in a 10-week yoga program, with sessions held every Friday. Following the positive impact of last year's program, Ellenbrook SC is pleased to continue offering this valuable wellbeing opportunity for a second year - an initiative organised and supported by our GAT Coordinator Ms Naik.
The sessions are facilitated by instructors from Kynd Karma. Through guided movement, breathing techniques and mindfulness activities, students are encouraged to develop resilience, improve flexibility and strength, and enhance their overall sense of wellbeing.
The program provides students with a welcoming space to relax, recharge and build greater self-awareness in a positive environment. This wellbeing focus is one of the aspects that makes the Ellenbrook SC GAT program special and unique, ensuring students are supported not only in their academic growth but also in their personal wellbeing and development.
Ellenbrook SC is part of the Mentally Healthy Schools program and actively promotes the Act Belong Commit message, recognising the mental health and wellbeing of our students and staff as a key priority

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗩𝗘𝗧𝗶𝗦 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 On Thursday 23 July, four Year 11 students participated in the WorldSkills Australia - Western Australia VETiS Bricklaying Competition at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Congratulations to Dylan C, Will M, Jayden C and Van D, who have been practising diligently in preparation for the competition. We also extend our thanks to North Metro TAFE, who assisted in training and preparing our students for this exciting opportunity.
The students took on the challenge of competing against their peers from across Western Australia, showcasing the practical skills and industry knowledge they have developed through their Certificate II in Construction Pathways.
The WorldSkills Competition continues to provide valuable opportunities for Ellenbrook SC students to demonstrate their talents on a state and national stage. The College was named WorldSkills WA Best Performing School in both 2022 and 2024. In 2025, nine Ellenbrook SC students represented Western Australia at the WorldSkills Australia National Championships, earning an outstanding one gold, two silver and one bronze medal.

𝗖𝗹𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 At the end of Term 2, our Year 11 and Year 12 students from the Ellenbrook SC Clontarf Academy attended the Senior Employment Forum Camp, where they engaged with a range of Clontarf employment partners and industry representatives.
The forum provided valuable insights into future career pathways, apprenticeships and employment opportunities, helping our senior boys prepare for the transition from school to the workforce.
We thank our program affiliate, Clontarf Foundation, for the invaluable support it provides to our young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. Through its programs and mentorship, Clontarf helps foster self-esteem, confidence and resilience, empowering participants to achieve their personal goals and make positive contributions to their communities and future pathways.
𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Year 8 student Danika N proudly represented Australia at the International All Star (AIA) Global Cheerleading Tournament, held in Montreal, Canada from 15–20 July. The prestigious event brought together some of the world's top cheerleading athletes and teams to compete at the highest level of international competition.
We are incredibly proud to share that Danika and her team, Perth Magic All Stars, achieved an outstanding result, placing 2nd in the Under 18 Level 3 division and earning a silver medal on the world stage. This remarkable achievement is a testament to Danika’s dedication, perseverance and commitment to her sport.
Danika’s parents have extended their gratitude to her teachers and peers at Ellenbrook SC, acknowledging the important role they have played in supporting her overall growth, development and success.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁'𝘀 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗗 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 On Thursday 16 July, Year 12 Associate Head Councillor and Multicultural Leader Ishika G had the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Western Australia Police Force CALD Youth Forum 'Empowering Youth Voices', held at The University of Western Australia University Club. The forum aimed to strengthen community connections and celebrate cultural diversity.
Ishika shared that the forum provided an opportunity to learn about and better understand the challenges faced by culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Her most memorable moments of the day was a powerful remark made by the WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch. He explained that if a quokka from Rottnest Island looked at a group of people, it would not see differences in skin colour, culture or background – it would simply see humans. For Ishika, this was a meaningful reminder that while our cultures and experiences make us unique, our shared humanity is what truly connects us.
She is grateful that Ellenbrook SC places a strong emphasis on multiculturalism and diversity, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and respected.

WAAPA Inspires the Next Generation of Musicians 🎶
On Monday August 3, our Year 11 and 12 ATAR Music students visited the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA)for a day of workshops, class observations and inspiring performances.

We've been sharing a series of videos featuring our students' transition from primary school and their experiences at Ellenbrook SC. In this video, Rayyaan J from Aveley Primary School WA shares his journey at Ellenbrook SC and how the College's diverse and inclusive environment has helped him feel welcomed and supported.
Ellenbrook SC is proudly multicultural, with students speaking more than 60 languages. We are one of the few schools in Western Australia to offer English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D), providing students from non-English-speaking backgrounds with the opportunity to study EAL/D instead of mainstream English.
In 2025, the College offered ATAR EAL/D for the first time and achieved results that were 5% above the state average. Our Dux of 2025 was also an ATAR EAL/D student who has since gone on to pursue a degree in Medicine at Curtin University.
Ellenbrook SC is a 'school for everyone' where multiculturalism is celebrated as one of our greatest strengths. We welcome families from all backgrounds to be part of our vibrant school community.

𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 - 𝗔𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯)
Aaron C (Class of 2023) discovered his love for the outdoors at Ellenbrook SC through Outdoor Education and VET Certificate courses. He received the SCSA VET Exhibition Award for Sport & Recreation and was named a finalist for the prestigious Beazley Medal.
Post secondary, Aaron completed a Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership, worked as an Outdoor Education Instructor and spent two years working at camps in Victoria, gaining valuable industry experiences. His dedication and commitment saw him nominated for the 2025 Apprentice Training Awards Trainee of the Year.
He is now working at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp and this week has had the opportunity to work alongside our Student Leaders. Aaron also volunteers with #StJohnWA as an Emergency Medical Responder and is considering a future in Paramedicine.
Aaron's journey is a fantastic example of the impact of Outdoor Education and VET pathways in helping students discover their strengths, pursue their passions and build rewarding careers.

𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗔𝗧 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
This term, our Gifted and Talented (GAT) students are once again taking part in a 10-week yoga program, with sessions held every Friday. Following the positive impact of last year's program, Ellenbrook SC is pleased to continue offering this valuable wellbeing opportunity for a second year - an initiative organised and supported by our GAT Coordinator Ms Naik.
The sessions are facilitated by instructors from Kynd Karma. Through guided movement, breathing techniques and mindfulness activities, students are encouraged to develop resilience, improve flexibility and strength, and enhance their overall sense of wellbeing.
The program provides students with a welcoming space to relax, recharge and build greater self-awareness in a positive environment. This wellbeing focus is one of the aspects that makes the Ellenbrook SC GAT program special and unique, ensuring students are supported not only in their academic growth but also in their personal wellbeing and development.
Ellenbrook SC is part of the Mentally Healthy Schools program and actively promotes the Act Belong Commit message, recognising the mental health and wellbeing of our students and staff as a key priority

Our latest student spotlight features Student Councillor Andjelina K, who attended Ellenbrook Primary School. On Thursday 23 July, four Year 11 students participated in the WorldSkills Australia - Western Australia VETiS Bricklaying Competition at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Congratulations to Dylan C, Will M, Jayden C and Van D, who have been practising diligently in preparation for the competition. We also extend our thanks to North Metro TAFE, who assisted in training and preparing our students for this exciting opportunity.
The students took on the challenge of competing against their peers from across Western Australia, showcasing the practical skills and industry knowledge they have developed through their Certificate II in Construction Pathways.
The WorldSkills Competition continues to provide valuable opportunities for Ellenbrook SC students to demonstrate their talents on a state and national stage. The College was named WorldSkills WA Best Performing School in both 2022 and 2024. In 2025, nine Ellenbrook SC students represented Western Australia at the WorldSkills Australia National Championships, earning an outstanding one gold, two silver and one bronze medal.
A huge congratulations to all of our competitors. We are incredibly proud of your commitment, hard work and willingness to challenge yourselves. We look forward to hearing the competition results.

𝗖𝗹𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺
At the end of Term 2, our Year 11 and Year 12 students from the Ellenbrook SC Clontarf Academy attended the Senior Employment Forum Camp, where they engaged with a range of Clontarf employment partners and industry representatives.
The forum provided valuable insights into future career pathways, apprenticeships and employment opportunities, helping our senior boys prepare for the transition from school to the workforce.
We thank our program affiliate, Clontarf Foundation, for the invaluable support it provides to our young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. Through its programs and mentorship, Clontarf helps foster self-esteem, confidence and resilience, empowering participants to achieve their personal goals and make positive contributions to their communities and future pathways.

Year 8 student Danika N proudly represented Australia at the International All Star (AIA) Global Cheerleading Tournament, held in Montreal, Canada from 15–20 July. The prestigious event brought together some of the world's top cheerleading athletes and teams to compete at the highest level of international competition.
We are incredibly proud to share that Danika and her team, Perth Magic All Stars, achieved an outstanding result, placing 2nd in the Under 18 Level 3 division and earning a silver medal on the world stage. This remarkable achievement is a testament to Danika’s dedication, perseverance and commitment to her sport.
Danika’s parents have extended their gratitude to her teachers and peers at Ellenbrook SC, acknowledging the important role they have played in supporting her overall growth, development and success.
Congratulations, Danika, on this incredible milestone achievement. You have represented both your team and Australia with pride.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁'𝘀 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗗 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
On Thursday 16 July, Year 12 Associate Head Councillor and Multicultural Leader Ishika G had the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Western Australia Police Force CALD Youth Forum 'Empowering Youth Voices', held at The University of Western Australia University Club. The forum aimed to strengthen community connections and celebrate cultural diversity.
Ishika shared that the forum provided an opportunity to learn about and better understand the challenges faced by culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Her most memorable moments of the day was a powerful remark made by the WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch. He explained that if a quokka from Rottnest Island looked at a group of people, it would not see differences in skin colour, culture or background – it would simply see humans. For Ishika, this was a meaningful reminder that while our cultures and experiences make us unique, our shared humanity is what truly connects us.
She is grateful that Ellenbrook SC places a strong emphasis on multiculturalism and diversity, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and respected.
