On Saturday 5 September, 19 students from our Specialist Vocal Ensemble performed at the WA Public Schools Choir Festival, hosted by Churchlands Senior High School.

The choir entertained the audience with arrangements of “Treasure” by Bruno Mars and “Superpowers” by Daniel Caesar. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to perform alongside choirs from other public schools and to experience the wonderful variety of vocal music presented throughout the festival.

Following the Choir Festival, 7 of our Year 9 and 10 IMSS Vocal students also participated in the WA Solo Vocal Festival. Students performed individual pieces and received valuable feedback and adjudication from a panel of experienced vocal educators.

A huge thank you goes to our IMSS Voice teacher, Mr Jason Wood, for his continued support and for providing our students with such wonderful opportunities to perform, develop their skills and experience music beyond the classroom.

Congratulations to all of our vocal students on their fantastic performances!

On Wednesday 9 September, our Year 11 and 12 ATAR Music students, along with students from our Certificate III in Music, PIMS, and Specialist Music classes, performed for family and friends. The evening featured a range of solo, duo and band performances across different music styles.

For our ATAR students, this was their final performance assessment before their practical exam, giving them valuable experience performing in front of an audience.

A big thank you to Teacher in Charge of Music, Stella Coskun, for supporting our students, Adrian Jelavic for his expertise with the event and photography, and to Year 12 student Mark Mhandire for his excellent work as sound technician.

Thank you to our Ellenbrook Secondary College P&C for providing pizzas for performers and guests after the concert.

Congratulations to all students who performed. It was wonderful to see their hard work, confidence and passion for music on display.

💛 𝗥 𝗨 𝗢𝗞? 𝗗𝗮𝘆 💛
Today, we paused to reflect on the importance of meaningful conversations and the impact a simple question can have. We may not always know what someone is going through, but taking the time to ask, listen, and show genuine care can make a real difference.

Our students enjoyed a range of lunchtime activities, bringing friends together through laughter, connection, and a little healthy competition. There were plenty of smiles to go around, with students also enjoying some sweet treats along the way.

R U OK? reminds us that checking in with those around us is something we can do every day, not just today. A conversation could change a life, so let's continue to look out for one another and foster a community where everyone feels supported and heard.

Are they really OK?👌 Ask. Listen. Encourage action. Check in.

We are looking forward to seeing the creativity, confidence and technical skills our students build throughout the program.

Ellenbrook Secondary College’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) faculty proudly hosted the VETiS Tourism WorldSkills Australia - Western Australia Competition today, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge in the tourism industry.

This prestigious event challenged students to demonstrate their abilities in sales, customer service and tourism operations through a realistic, simulated phone consultation. Participants were required to maintain a professional work environment while promoting tailored travel packages and assisting clients with their travel plans, including accommodation, individual needs and budget requirements.

Their performances were assessed by a panel of judges ensuring a high standard of industry-based evaluation: Ally Simens - Tourism Western Australia, Troy De Souza - Western Australia Visitor Centre and Judith Hunt - Ellenbrook Study Hub.

The competition provided valuable real-world experience and industry connections for our students - helping them prepare for future pathways in the tourism sector and beyond. Congratulations!

A special thank you to our judges for their valuable contribution to the event, and to Barbara Woulfe and Tracey Haydon for organising and coordinating the successful delivery of the competition at Ellenbrook SC.
