At Ellenbrook Secondary College, we are committed to supporting every student in planning for a successful future. The College Career Hub is a platform where students, parents and staff can access career related information; providing expert advice on career related topics that address the individual needs of students. This includes course counselling, pathway planning for students focused on tailoring their learning to a particular field of interest to enhance opportunities, providing career and further education advice, as well as assisting students with queries about university and other tertiary learning centres.

Academia and Pathways Team

Ellenbrook Secondary College has a full-time, qualified Career Practitioner, dedicated to guiding students through every step of their career development journey. Our Career Practitioner works closely with students and their families to support meaningful career exploration and planning, helping each student choose a pathway that aligns with their interests, goals, and aspirations.

  • Explore career options based on their interests, skills, and values
  • Identify strengths and transferable skills for future work
  • Understand current and emerging industry trends and job opportunities
  • Research education and training options, including VET, TAFE, university (local and interstate), and apprenticeships
  • Develop career action plans, resumes, and cover lettersPrepare for job interviews and employment readiness
  • Access work experience, career taster and volunteering opportunities
  • Navigate subject selection in line with their future aspirations

All students from Year 7 to Year 12 are encouraged to engage with the Career Practitioner. Whether you’re exploring your first career ideas or finalising university applications, support is available every step of the way. We understand the importance of involving families in career conversations. Parents and guardians are welcome to contact the Career Practitioner for advice or to attend appointments with their child.

The Dean of Studies plays a vital role in leading and enhancing the academic programs at Ellenbrook Secondary College. As a key academic leader, the Dean ensures all programs align with curriculum standards and College policies while fostering a positive, engaging learning environment.

Focused on student academic success, the Dean of Studies provides support to students, parents, and teachers – offering guidance, resolving academic concerns, and promoting high expectations for learning and achievement across the College.

Australia’s National Career Information Service Myfuture careers link can help with preparing for the world of work and gaining employment, whether it be casual, part time or full time. Department of Education single sign on email can give students access to Myfuture site.  The site also provides job seeker resources that provides sample resumes, cover letters, and articles to help students with job application. Myfuture is available to everyone and there is information for students, educators and parents/carers.
