At Ellenbrook Secondary College, we believe that positive behaviour is key to creating a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment for all members of the Ellenbrook Secondary community. Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach helps students understand and meet clear expectations, acknowledging the impact of their behaviours on the wider community, all while being supported to make positive behaviour choices.
Students are encouraged to demonstrate positive behaviours that uphold our core values:
- Engagement
- Success
- Community
The College has developed a Positive Behaviour Matrix that outlines specific, expected behaviours in various contexts – always, inside the classroom, outside the classroom, and online and when using technology. These behaviours are explicitly taught, modelled, and reinforced throughout the College to create a positive and supportive learning community.
To celebrate students who demonstrate these behaviours, the College uses PBS House Points, to acknowledge and award students doing the right thing. Students who are awarded PBS points are recognised at regular PBS events throughout the year and can use their points to redeem further rewards. These points also contribute to overall House totals for House Competitions
We value open communication with parents and carers, encouraging collaboration in supporting positive student behaviour and wellbeing.
