Ellenbrook Secondary College seeks to promote a high standard of dress and personal presentation. It is a public school requirement that students comply with the Dress Code unless they have been granted an exemption. Other jackets or raincoats can be worn over the uniform on the way to College but must be removed on arrival. Any replacement pant, short or skirt items must be the same appearance as the College uniform items and Navy in colour. In particular, shorts and skirts must be worn at an appropriate length.
The College Board has endorsed the dress code for all students attending this college and believes a dress code:
- Fosters and enhances the public image of the College.
- Ensures students are safely dressed for specific College activities.
- Encourages Equality amongst student.

This is a guide as to what the College expects all students to wear whilst at school during school hours as referenced in the Information Booklet under ‘Student Dress Code’.
- Jumpers, jackets or hoodies are to be navy blue, without significant (highly visible) logos or writing.
- Logos must be smaller than a fist.
- Shorts that are predominantly navy blue.
- Undershirts (long sleeve tops worn under the uniform) must be in College colours (plain navy or white).
- Tights can be worn under shorts or skirts and must be navy or black in colour only.
- Leggings that are worn under shorts or skirts must be navy or black in colour only.
- Acceptable length for shorts and skirts, when standing straight with hands by your side, the finger tips do not reach past the bottom of them.
The following circumstances indicate when a student will need to change immediately and will be sent to Student Services:
- Shorts too short/tight/wrong colour.
- Non-school uniform top (polo or shirt).
- Leggings without shorts or a skirt over the top.
- Garments that are deemed unacceptable. Where there is uncertainty about student uniform suitability, Student Services will advise.
