𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 On 26 September, Year 11 Ancient History students visited the WA Museum Boola Bardip to see the Terracotta Warriors Exhibition. The Terracotta Warriors Exhibition showcases one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century - the Terracotta Army of China’s First Emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Discovered in 1974 near Xi’an, these life-sized clay soldiers were buried over 2,000 years ago to guard the emperor in the afterlife.
The exhibition features a selection of the original warriors, horses, and weapons excavated from the vast underground army, estimated to include over 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots, and 670 horses. Each figure is unique, with detailed facial features, hairstyles, and armour, reflecting the ranks and roles within Qin’s military.
Alongside the warriors, the exhibition often includes bronze artifacts, jade ornaments, and weapons that highlight the technological and artistic achievements of the Qin Dynasty (221–206 BCE) - the dynasty that first unified China. Students learnt about the emperor’s ambition to achieve immortality, the construction of his massive tomb complex, and the legacy of Qin’s rule, including the creation of a centralised state and the Great Wall’s early sections.
Overall, the exhibition offers an extraordinary glimpse into ancient Chinese beliefs, craftsmanship, and political power, revealing how art and archaeology bring the past to life.

𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟵 𝗲𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 Year 9 students participated in a valuable eHealth incursion focused on the impact of online content on health and well-being in today’s digital world. Students were grouped by gender to engage in tailored workshops addressing key issues relevant to their experiences. This inclusive and thought-provoking program deepened students’ understanding of online content, consent, cyber safety, and the influence of gender norms and toxic masculinity.
Daniel Principe, a youth advocate and educator, led the boys’ session, exploring how cultural forces shape perceptions of masculinity and relationships. His presentation encouraged young men to redefine masculinity and support one another in becoming respectful and empathetic individuals.
Kayelene Kerr from eSafeKids led a session with the female students, examining the effects of sexualised media and encouraging critical thinking about its impact on relationships, body image, and overall well-being.
A huge thank you to our presenters for their powerful insights, empowering young people to make informed and healthy choices in their online lives.
