Congratulations to VET students Vince Madnack (Year 11) and Albert Mombo (Year 12), chosen to compete in the WorldSkills Australia National Championships & Skills Show 2021.
Over 500 competitors will showcase and benchmark their skills on a national stage as they compete for gold and a chance to represent Australia at the International Competition in Shanghai 2022.
Vince will be competing in the Bricklaying competition and Albert in the Masters Plumbing Association (MPA).
The Honourable Sue Ellery MLC , Minister of Education and Training, presented each competitor with their uniforms at Parliament House on 26 July.
The competition takes place from 26 โ 28 August at the Perth Convention Centre. Many scouts will attend the competition looking for apprentices, so it is a fantastic opportunity for Vince and Albert to showcase their skills.
We are so proud that former Ellenbrook Secondary College student Duan Duvenhage, who won gold in Bricklaying at a State level in 2018 and is now in his final year of his Bricklaying apprenticeship, has offered to come into the College to help train Vince for his competition. It is wonderful to see our past students come back to mentor our current students.
Congratulations Vince and Albert and Team WA. Good luck!
