Well done to Year 11 students Jordan, Esteban, Ayok, Joseph and Tauawhi for their results at the Nitro Schools Challenge, held earlier in September.
It is a team based athletics competition, where students score points for their team based on performance. Mrs. Richardson tells us that there were 51 teams from over 20 schools participating.
Our boys competed as a team of 5 (up to 11 athletes are allowed per team), which meant they all had multiple individual events and relays.
Jordan Wight won the high jump by a massive 20cm and Ayok Ayok blitzed the field in the 400m.
We finished an impressive 3rd in the senior boy category, against a majority of teams made up of 17-18 year olds, (our students all being a year younger)!
