Deadly Sista Girlz join ESC

The College is excited to welcome another new program to the school in 2020 – the Deadly Sista Girlz (DSG).

Run through theย Wirrpanda Foundation, the DSG program aims to engage, empower and inspire Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls to make healthy lifestyle choices, attain Year 12 education and entry into the workforce.

Positive female Aboriginal mentors provide intensive individual mentoring for participants, with girls encouraged to become leaders in their families and communities.

Imahra and Dell, our DSG representatives, are located upstairs in LC4 and are always available for those who wish to have a chat.

Both ladies are extremely knowledgeable on a range of subjects and have some exciting personal interests.

Imahra (Pictured, Left) was the first pick in the draft for the inauguralย AFL Women’sย West Coast Eagles team and Dell (Pictured, Right) is a trained Beauty Therapist. She is also an ESC graduate and local of Ellenbrook since childhood.

The pair will be running weekly workshops for our students involved in the DSG program, focusing on themes such as identity, goal setting, communication, learning styles, leadership, healthy relationships, sexual health, nutrition, financial literacy, personal hygiene and physical activity.

We look forward to the extra support they will provide to our students through the DSG program.
