Rugby Building Momentum at ESC

The College is excited to announce that seven of our students have been selected to represent Western Australia in the U16’s State Rubgy Union and U15’s State Rugby League teams. It takes discipline, dedication, talent, and perseverance to be chosen to represent your state in any capacity. The College is immensely proud of the boys’ accomplishments.

Huge congratulations to the following Year 10 boys in the U16 State Championship Rugby Union Squad:

• Thomas Crofts (Club – Nth: Joondalup Brothers – Missing from image)
• Jahvarro Joyce (Club – Nth: Ellenbrook)
• Carlos Kata (Club – Nth: Ellenbrook)
• Lance Nelio (Club – Nth: Bayswater Irish)

The initial squad for the WA U16 team was selected after the WA State Championships last month. The standard of rugby demonstrated was exceptional, making the selection of the state squad extremely difficult.

Coach Colin Philips is excited and eager to develop the squad throughout the training process, saying that this is a true display of the growing talent in WA.

The WA U16’s will be competing in the Australian Junior Rugby Championship held in Brisbane between 25 September and 3 October.
